Montana - Day Three

We woke up at 5:30 a.m. We toured some friends around Yellowstone National Park. We went to Gibbon Falls. The first animal we saw was big horn elk, there were 2 big bull elks. Then we went to the Grand Canyon. I saw a chipmunk there. The next animal we saw was a bear. It was a grizzly bear. We were up really close to it. It was fun. It wasn’t paying attention to all the people. There was like a million people.

We hiked up a waterfall on the Beartooth Hi
ghway.

Casey said there is a bat in the Pyke Cabin.

We had a triple rainbow after a hail storm.

Montana - Day One

The next day, we had to drive for five hours, which was boring. We finally arrived in Montana.

The day after we arrived, we hiked up a mountain called Mountain Washburn. We hiked all the way up. I had never been to the top of a mountain. It was hard. There was a little rest area at the top. We were 10,243 feet high! The rest area had benches and a spying scope. On the way down the mountain, there was a really bad storm that did not stay very long. It took us one hour fifteen minutes to get down. It took us four hours to get up. My favorite thing about the trail is you could see very far. You could see all the way to Grand Teton, it was pretty amazing!

Utah - Breaking Down

We went on Antelope Island. It is in the Salt Lake. We saw a couple pronghorn antelope, and tons and tons of bison.

We went to go hiking and then the Suburban overheated. Near the driver’s seat at the front, the Suburban was leaking. While we waited for the tow truck, we hiked a quarter of a mile up the hill. We could see a lot of Antelope Island. Next, we rented a car and they came to pick us up in his new Cadillac. We rented a minivan.

The next day, we got the Suburban and about 20 minutes later, Bryan and I we were driving the Suburban. Mommy was driving Casey’s car. Then something flew off the road and it went boom into our windshield. It cracked everywhere. The glass flew into the car. We could not see through the middle of the windshield.

We rented another car, a Toyota Highlander. We were planning to go to Grand Teton the same day the windshield broke. We could not go because of the windshield. So we had to stay there one more night.
